English-Level 4

Students develop vocabulary and reading strategies required to comprehend academic textbooks and literature in various fields of study. Students learn the grammatical patterns and sentence construction used in academic writing and focus on improving sentence-level grammatical accuracy in the writing of coherent, well-developed paragraphs.

This course develops intermediate conversation, pronunciation, and idiomatic and aural comprehension skills. Conversational and idiomatic skills focus on fluent and appropriate use of oral communication skills in a variety of social, business and/or academic situations. Pronunciation focuses on clearer articulation of English vowels and consonants and on increased control of the stress, intonation, and rhythm of English.
